I am a member of a writers’ group that came together 15 years ago. There are 6-8 women who attend meetings regularly. At our meetings we hone our craft by doing writing exercises. Once a year we hold a two-day retreat where we concentrate on the mechanics of writing and share information regarding the world of publishing. Our last retreat was held in Red Cloud, Nebraska, home of Willa Cather, famous author of My Antonia, O Pioneers, Death Comes to the Archbishop and the Pulitzer Prize winning book, One of Our Own.
